A very, merry Christmas!

Christmas break has officially started. I was definitely ready for a break from my lovely class of 21 kids.

Just to update...Toby is now weighing in at about 19 1/2 pounds of pure boy. He started crawling last Monday and is literally keeping me (and Ben) up and moving. He's also discovered that if he crawls over to the door, he can be eye to eye with the cat. That seems to keep him pretty occupied. Rachel isn't crawling yet, but she's finally been able to bring her 22 pound self to sit up by herself. They are both getting so big and so much more fun. It is amazing to see their little personalities already blooming...Toby is going to be so full of energy and mischief, while Rachel will be the calm, easy-going kid.

I must say that having Toby and Rachel in my life has taught me so much. It has taught me to be thankful for every moment that I'm given. It has taught me to love unconditionally. It has taught me that to be needed and depended upon for everything is a wonderful feeling. I love the way that they both look at me like I can hang the moon (or at least change a dirty diaper quickly). I'm so blessed to have these two bundles of joy in my life this Christmas. They are happy, healthy babies that light up the room when they are in it. I remember thinking last Christmas when I was pregnant how special this Christmas would be, and I can already tell that it is. It is already the best Christmas of my life, and it hasn't even happened yet! I cannot wait for the many more Christmases we will have together as a family.

I hope everyone in xangaland has a merry Christmas! I'm sure I'll post again in a few months.

Hello, my long lost xanga pals! At the request of my sister, I've decided to update my xanga. Chelle said that a one liner post would do, but I think I'm going to shoot for a paragraph. A lot has happened since last Thanksgiving (WOW!) when I posted. The twins were born on March 28th. Toby weighed 5.4 and Rachel weighed 6.7. To this day, Rachel is still the heavyweight. At the doctor about 3 1/2 weeks ago, she weighed almost 16lbs. Two pounds bigger than Toby! They are absolutely the light of my life, and already I think they are growing up too fast.

School also started. I have 22 kids. For the most part, they are a good group. But I truly believe this will be my most difficult year teaching. The discipline in this group is lacking. There are a few kids who just don't want to listen to a word I say...Oh well. I'm sure I'll make it.

Hope all is well with everyone. Have a great week! (And be good at school, Chelle.)

What to Expect When You're Expecting, Third Edition

WARNING: The following post is mainly about pregnancy. I'm sure that there are a lot of people that couldn't give a flip, but it is the main thing going on in my life right now.  Just thought I'd warn you before you read on...

I am officiall in my 28th week of pregnancy. Went to the doctor last Monday, and both babies are looking fantastic. Toby is weighing in at 2lbs 12oz. Rachel is weighing about 2lbs 6oz. As far as a possible due date, my doc said anything beyond 36 weeks (March 23rd) she would feel like we'd done our job. I did talk to Jimmy's mom yesterday, and she reassured me that every twin pregnancy is different because she went 11 days past her due date... I am really hoping my doctor doesn't make me do that!

Last Saturday was the babies' shower, and it was actually pretty bearable. I usually hate showers because I'm not a fan of being the center of attention. Maybe it was because I got to open tons of really cute stuff...or perhaps it was because I actually knew all the people there! The only things we really lack getting are two carseats and two crib mattresses. The best part is that we will be able to use some of the money and gift cards we got to purchase those things. There will even be money left over...That should buy us a week's worth of diapers.

As far as the rest of my life is going, it's pretty boring. Ben has been working hard on the nursery for me. Natalie has left me for Texas (I can't imagine why!). I'm counting the days until I get to go on maternity leave from school. Not because I dislike my job, but it is really making me super tired and worn out these days. Other than that, I've done nothing but work, eat, and sleep. Now isn't that productive?

I guess I will go and grade some papers so I can acutally send out progress reports this six-weeks. I hope everyone has a great week!

I've emerged from the depths of xangaland to type a new entry. I mainly wanted to let those of you keeping up know what's been happening around here lately.

I went to the doctor yesterday and am officially 19 weeks 4 days pregnant. Wow! Over halfway there. The 'normal' pregnancy lasts 40 weeks, but my doctor says that I should be hoping to make it to week 37 or 38. Ben got to go with me yesterday, too. It was his third visit, and I think he likes it more and more each time he goes . He does enjoy all the ultrasounds, but I think the actual office visit really bores him. We did have our 'big' ultrasound yesterday- the one that measures everything and can tell the sex of the babies. We found out we are having....drumroll please... a BOY and a GIRL!  I am soooo excited. The number one thing was that we wanted two healthy babies, but it is nice to have one of each since this will probably be it for us. Everything looked great, but the little boy is missing a vessel in his umbillical cord. There are supposed to be three, but he only has two. My doctor seemed to be fairly unconcerned. She said that mainly means that there is a possibility that he may be born small or that there could be some abnormalities with his kidneys. She said that in her 17 years, the babies she's seen have been born at normal size and are healthy. Needless to say, I'm sort of worried, but I know that the only thing I can do is say my prayers that the two of them will be okay. I would appreciate some prayers from all of you, though.

We're also about 99% positive on names, too. Rachel Marie and Toby Benjamin. Ben and I are actually in agreement on both, which I thought might be impossible.

Other exciting news....Thanksgiving Break was AWESOME! I absolutely love Thanksgiving! We get to eat turkey at four different meals, then bring leftovers home and pig out for the weekend. The break from school was nice, too. The countdown to Christmas Break? 12 1/2 days.

I also got to check out Walk the Line with Natalie and Sarah a week ago, as well as one of my best friends weddings. Both were fantastic! If you haven't seen Walk the Line yet, you are missing one of the best movies that have been out in a while. As my dad said (and I must agree since I'm not totally crazy about Johnny Cash's singing), Joaquin and Reese sounded even better than Johnny and June. I know not everyone will agree, but that's what opinions are for. Right?

Hope you all have a fantastic end to November!
